Brother of Albert of RI and Ralph Darragh Of Quincy; Olive Costello of Dorchester; Regina Timulty of Raynham; Geraldine Pio of Worcester; Claire Saltmarsh; Barbara Robinson and Imogene Darragh all of Quincy.
Funeral from the J.Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 7:45 am. Funeral Mass in St. Edward Churchat 8:45 am. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 10:45 am. Visiting Hours Sunday 4-8 pm.
Obituary
Mr. Darragh died Wednesday at the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater after a brief illness. Born in East Boston , son of the late Peter and Harriet (Ellis) Darragh. Graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School Class of 1944. After graduation Mr. Darragh enlisted in the US Navy serving during WW II and separating as a Seaman First Class in 1946. He had worked for 20 years for ABC Linen Service in Jamaica Plain. He was also the director of Housekeeping for the Framingham Union Hospital. In 1982 he retired from the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton as Director of Housekeeping. Mr. Darragh was a Member of the Brockton Recreation Commission, Brockton School Committee from 1974 to 1976 and he was also on the Brockton Planning Board from 1976 to 1980. Mr. Darragh was very active in Brockton Community Affairs and he was a longtime Communicant of St. Edward Church.
