Obituary

WORCESTER-Philipe C. “Peto” Levasseur, 72, of 304 Lovell Street, died Friday, September 30th in UMass Hospital after a short illness. His wife of 40 years, Evelyn R. (Dube) Levasseur died in 1995. He leaves a son; Philip B. Levasseur of Chicago, IL, a daughter; Denise J. Brennan of Old Orchard Beach, ME, a sister; Janet Mitchell, 2 grandsons; Brad Deschanes and Brian Brennan, many nephews and nieces. A daughter; Cheryl M. Deschanes, 3 brothers; Armand, Joseph and Eugene Levasseur, and a sister; Claire King predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester the son of Joseph and Regina (Demers) Levasseur. Mr. Levasseur was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a plumber and steamfitter for the Worcester Public School System for 17 years, before retiring as Department Head in 1995. Previously, he worked as a plumber for L. P. Gallo Plumbing and Heating Company. Mr. Levasseur was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Post 6907.

The funeral is Tuesday, October 4th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, October 3rd from 5:00 until 9:00 PM in the funeral home.
