Winchester- Carol A.(Strong) Swartz died Thursday September 29, 2005. She was 40 years old. Carol was born in Stockton, CA on Nov. 13, 1964. She was raised in Fitchburg, MA and graduated with the Fitchburg High Class of 1983. She then attended RPI in Troy, NY where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in ComputerScience. Carol was employed as a manager with Comverse in the engineering department for over 10 years. Carol along with her husband, John, moved to Winchester in 1992 where she became active with the Second Congregational Church, Winchester. She served as Deacon and was the editor of the church’s monthly newsletter. She loved arts and crafts and sewing. She was also a music-lover who played the saxaphone. In addition to her husband, John, she is lovingly survived by her daughters Kristen and Danielle Swartz both of Winchester. She was the daughter of Waneta (West) Strong of Fitchburg and the late Dr. Robert Strong, and the sister of Diane Strong of Worcester, Roberta Reynolds of Paragould, AR, Paul Strong and his wife Kristine of Leominster and Craig Strong of Houston, TX. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Joan Land of Hadley, MA, a brother-in-law, Joseph Swartz of North Amherst and a sister-in-law Sara Swartz of Northampton and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held in the Second Congregational Church, 485 Washington St., Winchester on Tues. Oct. 4th at 11AM. Visiting hours will be held in the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Mon. from 4-8PM. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the above-mentioned church, Winchester, MA 01890 or to the Faith United Parish Scholarship Fund 820 Main St. Fitchburg, MA 01420.
