Janet C. Morrissey of Andover passed away at the Wingate Nursing Home in Andover on Saturday morning July 22, 2017. She was 88 years old. Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, on January 19, 1929, Janet was the daughter of Francis and Pauline (Beers) Caverly. She graduated from Punchard High School in Andover. Janet worked as a dental assistant and office manager for 29 years for Dr. Douglas Dunbar, DDS.
Janet was pre-deceased by her loving husband Edward J. Morrissey, former Postmaster of Andover; daughter-in-law Beth(O'Leary) Morrissey; and granddaughter Caitlin J. Morrissey.
Janet was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Janet will be missed by her son, Joseph Morrissey of Greenville, Maine; her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Jane Morrissey of Andover; grandchildren, Brad and wife Lisa, Christopher and wife Kim, Patrick and wife Lindsay, Kelly and fiance Mike Dias; and great grandchildren Connor, Emma and Leo.
At the request of the family there will be no calling hours. There will be a private graveside service at Spring Grove Cemetery at a later date.
