Obituary

James E. Goodman, 89, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, September 29, 2005 at Dorminy Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 1, 2005 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Elder Maurice Riner officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation well be held from 7 until 9 Friday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Goodman was born October 12, 1915 in West Green, Georgia, to the Late Robert T. and Idell McCollum Goodman. He lived in the community since 1946 and served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Goodman was the founder and former owner of Goodman Welding Shop.

Mr. Goodman is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Edward & Evie Mae Goodman and Ronnie & Vivian Goodman, all of Fitzgerald; daughter-in-law: Mary Jane Goodman of Ocilla; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother: Lamar Goodman of Coffee County; sister: Maxine Andrews of Broxton. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Roberta Beasley Goodman, a son, Glenn Goodman, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
