GREAT MILLS, Md. -- Elizabeth Robbins Raffa, 95, of Great Mills and formerly of New Bedford, Mass., died at home, Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005. She was the widow of Felix S. Raffa.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Edward Baker Robbins and the late Jennie Clarke (Bates) Robbins. She lived in the New Bedford area most of her life, in the house in which she was born.
Mrs. Raffa was a graduate of Leslie College, receiving her degree in elementary education. Over the years, she worked at Aerovox Co., the American Cranberry Exchange and a local insurance company.
Her interests included knitting, needlework and boating, and, in her younger years, dancing.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane C. Downer of Great Mills; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Eleanor R. King and the mother of the late Robert B. MacKenzie.
Her service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2005, in the Wilson Chapel 479 County St., New Bedford, Ma.
