BRADENTON, FL - Francis “Mickey” Rolling, age 74, a former resident of Tewksbury, diedWednesday afternoon, June 5, at his home in Bradenton, after a two year battle with cancer. Hewas the husband of Ann Marie "Rita" (Marcotte)(Vezina) Rolling.
During WWII, he served as a Radarman in the U.S. Navy
He graduated from Lowell Technological Institute with a degree in chemistry.
Prior to retirement, he worked as a chemist for the Olin Chemical Company in Wilmington.
As a resident of Tewksbury he was a communicant of St. William’s Church.
Active in civic and fraternal affairs, he held membership in the Tewksbury-Wilmington ElksLodge # 2070 for more than 26 years, the Walker-Rogers V.F.W. Post 662 in Lowell, AmericanLegion Post 312 in Bradenton, D.A.V. Florida Chapter 18, Moose Lodge #1223 in Bradenton,and the Order of Eagles #3171 in Bradenton.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Ann Marie (Chapley)Rolling of Tewksbury, two daughters, Linda Vezina of Cape Cod, Deborah Norris of TX, six stepchildren, Paula Vezina of NH, Raymond Vezina of OH, Diane Hand of Littleton, Gerald Vezinaof FL, Danny Vezina of Canton, Mass., Ronald Vezina of Tyngsboro, 18 grandchildren, andtwo great grandchildren.
He was also father of the late Dorothy Rolling and Donna Rolling.
His Funeral Mass was held Monday, June 10, in St. William’s Church. Burial was in Tewksbury Cemetery.
