Obituary

Albert E. Leal, 54, of Sherman Farm Road in Burrillville, formerly of North Providence, died Tuesday at his home. He was the husband of Beverly (Bagaglia) Leal.
Born in Providence, he was a son of Florence (Forgue) Leal of North Providence and the late Manuel B. Leal, Jr. He had been a resident of Burrillville for the past 6 years.
He was a Fiscal Manager for DCYF retiring in 2003. Previous employment includes being the first Town Planner for North Providence. As such he was responsible for securing the funds for the restoration of the Town Hall.
He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping, hiking, backpacking and fishing. His hobbies included gardening, landscaping, cooking and baking. He was active with the Venturer Post #800 at Mount St. Charles Academy, and the Girl Scouts. He was a graduate of North Providence High School and Bryant University. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Help Church in Mapleville.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Carissa M. Leal of Somerville, MA, and three sisters Victoria Frezza of Johnston, Diane Durocher of Greenville, and Ruth Leal of Smithfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10am in the Church of the Presentation, 1801 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Visitation Friday 4-8pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Rt.44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Please omit flowers.
