Diane M. Clark, 65 of Derry, NH, died Monday, September 26, 2005 in Hackett Hill Health Care Center, Manchester, NH following a courageous battle with cancer. Ms. Clark was born in Boston, MA on August 18, 1940, a daughter of the late Edwin J. and Madelyn (Kewer) Cussen. She was a resident of Derry for 22 years, formerly living in Salem, MA. Diane grew up in Quincy, MA. She graduated from N. Quincy High School. She had worked as a hairdresser when she was young. She later went to work for Sears in Management and later in Sales for a total of 20 years. She worked in the Sears stores in Quincy, Peabody, MA, Salem, NH and Manchester. She had also worked at Longos Furniture Store in Manchester and for Sears Home Life. She enjoyed reading, playing raquetball, taking long drives, dining out, going to the theatre and enjoyed the show of the month at the Shubert. Ms. Clark also donated her time and efforts to the Miracle Provider’s NorthEast from it’s inception in their fund raising and benefit shows.
She is survived by a daughter, Laurie A. Clark of Derry, a son, Russell A. Clark and his wife Nita Overly-Clark of Cambria, CA, granddaughter, Ashley E. Clark of Derry, a brother, Paul H. O'Connell of Quincy, four cousins, Andrea Pappou of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Debbie Kewer of Tucson, AZ, Rick and Gary MacDonald, both of Ft. Meyers, FL. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her step-father, William O'Connell, her aunt, Lorraine MacDonald and a cousin, Billy Kewer.
Following cremation a memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, October 1st in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Friends may call Saturday from 1:30pm until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Miracle Provider's NorthEast, 332 Clark Rd., Lowell, MA 01852-3124. The Miracle Provider's are dedicated to improving the quality of life for less fortunate families affected by HIV and AIDS.
