Mrs. Carmella Elizabeth (Spera) Sallese, age 95 died Saturday September 24, 2005 at the Lexington Health Care Center after a brief illness. Carmella was the daughter of the late Lucia (Coluccino) & Pellegrino Spera.
Carmella was born in Boston´s North End at 34 Cross St. in 1909. She attended Boston public school´s and graduated from the High School of Practical Arts, Dudley St. Boston in 1929. A few years later she moved to Medford and has been a resident ever since, where she was a member of the Medford Women´s Club.
Carmella was the wife of the late Pasquale Spera. Devoted mother of Laura Sallese of Chester, CT, Joseph Sallese of Woburn, Robert Sallese of Bedford, NH, Pasquale Sallese of Lexington. Also survived by 15 loving grandchildren, 25 loving great grandchildren and 4 loving great great grandchildren. Sister of the late George Martino, Rosario, Josephine, Matthew, Thomas and Antoinette Spera. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the McLaughlin Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Wednesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
