Obituary

Ignazio C. Giaimo, passed away peacefully at his Medford home on September 25, Born and raised in the North End of Boston, he was the son of the late Lena (Santangelo) and Salvatore Giaimo.

After setteling in Medford, “Iggy” as he was affectionately known, worked as a tile setter, eventualy owning and operating his own business for many years before his retirement in 1986.
He was a US Navy Veteran of World War 2, and a active member of VFW Post 1012.

Iggy is survived by his six sisters, Florence Saviano and her husband Andrew, Joanne Abdella, Marie Lacey and her husband Jack all of Winchester, Vini Levin and her husband Arthur of Medford, Elena Zero and her husband John of Lynnfield, Lillian Gagliardi and her husband Phil of Medford. One sister in law Madeline Giaimo of Medford. Twenty-eight loving nieces and nephews and fifty-four loving great nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by two brothers, John and Frank Giaimo and a sister Frances Pecorella. A sister in law Helen Giaimo and a brother in law Joseph Abdella.


A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., on Wednesday at 9 AM.

Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

Friends may visit from 4 thru 8 on Tuesday at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.

As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be sent in Ignazio’s name to Hallmark Hospice, 100 Hospital Rd., Malden, MA 02148.
