WORCESTER-Margaret M. (O’Leary) Pender, 90, of 13 Merriwether Road died Friday, September 23rd at home. Her husband, John J. Pender died in 1991. She leaves a brother; Philip T. O’Leary of Worcester, many nieces and nephews. 2 brothers; Jack and Joseph O’Leary and a sister; Helen Ryan predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Timothy J. and Julia M. (Crimmins) O’Leary and graduated from St. Peter’s High School. Mrs. Pender was employed as an administrative assistant for the Worcester City School Department for many years, until retirement. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and the Guild of Our Lady of Providence. Mrs. Pender volunteered as a Braille transcriber for the Massachusetts Association for the Blind.
The funeral is Tuesday, September 27th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, September 26th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
