Taunton – George C. DeMaranville Jr., 68, of E. Freetown died September 20, 2005 at Morton Hospital of injuries resulting from an automobile accident. He was the former husband of Fay E. (DeMoranville) DeMaranville of New Bedford.
Mr. DeMaranville was born in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late George C. DeMaranville and Frances M. (Barth) DeMaranville Gaddis, and resided in E. Freetown most of his life. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the East Freetown Congregational Christian Church. He was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 29 years by Taunton State Hospital and later by Bridgewater State Hospital until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed gardening and cooking.
In addition to his former wife, he is survived by a daughter: Roberta A. Perreira of Marion; 2 sons: George C. DeMaranville III of E. Freetown and Andrew J. DeMaranville of Rochester; a brother: James H. Barth of New Jersey; 5 grandchildren: Ryan L. Perreira of Marion, Erin K. Perreira of Marion, Shawn R. Perreira of Marion, Nathan A. DeMaranville of E. Freetown and Nicholas A. DeMaranville of E. Freetown; and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral service on Monday, September 26, 2005 at 8:00 P.M. at the KIRBY FUNERAL HOME, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, Disaster Relief Fund, Central Processing Center, P.O. Box 97265, Washington, DC 20090-7265 to aid the hurricane victims.
