Obituary

Leonard A. Curran, 92, of Dartmouth, formerly of Fairhaven, died Sunday June 11, 2017 at Hathaway Manor after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Gladys M. (Staskiewcz) Curran.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Francis and Elizabeth (Mulroy) Curran, he lived in New Bedford for many years, then 22 years in Fairhaven before moving to Autumn Glen in Dartmouth last year.
Mr. Curran was formerly employed as a driver/salesman for Giusti Baking Company and Kasanoff Baking Company until his retirement.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He is survived by three children, Michael P. Curran and his wife Holly of California, Patrick L. Curran and his wife Cathy of Fairhaven, and Maureen E. Curran of Fairhaven; 5 grandchildren, Casey Schmidt, Lael Curran, Bo Curran, Erin Fowler, and Christa Curran; six great-grandchildren; his special friend, Lucille Connolly; his special nephew, Russell Souza; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the grandfather of the late Cathy Eda Curran, and brother of the late Irene Rysz, Annie Cryer, Catherine Teixeira, Elizabeth Mills, Sarah Green, Francis Curran, and James Curran.
His Funeral will be held on Friday at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St, New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 9 AM.
