Tom Sheffield, 67, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, September 22, 2005, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 24, 2005 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Rev. David Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Sheffield was born February 6, 1938, in Irwin County, Georgia to Jessie Ray Pitts and the late Arlie B. Sheffield. He lived in the community for the past thirty years, growing up in the Lands Crossing Community and was a former resident of Fort Valley, Perry and Macon. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Sheffield was a former truck driver for Modern Fibers and AAA Cooper Transportation. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Mr. Sheffield is survived by his wife: Thelma Taylor Sheffield of Fitzgerald; mother: Jessie Pitts of Fitzgerald; daughters: Stacy Sheffield Lee of Perry, Janet Russ of Fitzgerald and Jennifer Burkett of Greenville, AL; grandchildren: Bryan Russ, Carlie Ann Burkett, Blair Elaine Lee, Reid Burkett, Mallory Gayle Lee and Seth Thomas Lee; nine brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
