SWANSEA – John Pereira, age 86 of Swansea, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at home with his beloved family and loved ones. He was the husband of the late Beatrice “Bea” (Franco) Pereira and the son of the late Manuel & Angela (Pimentel) Pereira. Prior to retiring, John worked as a Quality Controller for the former Haskon Aerospace Co. of Taunton. After retiring, John worked for the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home as a Funeral Assistant for many years. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, a parishioner of St. Louis de France Church, and a member of the Ponta Delgada Club.
He is survived by his daughter Cynthia “Cyndie” Gauvin and her husband Raymond Gary Gauvin III of Swansea, his grandson Matthew Gauvin of Swansea, and granddaughter Elyse Gauvin and her fiancé Ryan Dudzinski of Milford, CT.
John’s funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Thursday at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Louis de France Church, Swansea at 9:30 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
