Obituary

Richard G. Parker, Sr. 82, of West Wareham, died peacefully, Thursday May 25, 2017 at Tremont Health Care Center in Wareham, following an illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Lucille H. (Tessier) Parker, who died in 2013.

Born September 27, 1934 in Waltham, a son of the late Donald E. Parker, Sr. and Pamelia (York) Parker, he was a longtime Franklin resident before retiring to West Wareham.

He was raised and educated in Waltham, was a graduate of Wayland High School class of 1954. Richard was the former longtime owner of Parker’s Garage in Holliston. Following his retirement he worked as a driver for the First Student Bus Company in the Metro West area and Metro West Steel Company of Wrentham, MA.

He enjoyed coin collecting, camping and was a member of the Holliston men’s bowling league.

He is survived by his children, Susan M. Parker of Florida, Gail A. Doiron of Franklin, Bonnie J. Wheeler of Bellingham, Richard G. Parker, Jr. of Bellingham and Lisa J. Parker of Franklin, a brother Douglas Parker of Maine. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Richard was the brother of the late Pamelia Mitrano, Donald E. Parker, Jr. and Robert Parker.

At Richard’s request all services will be private.
