Glenn A. Richardson, 63 of Marlboro, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at home surrounded by his adoring family, after a courageous fight against cancer. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Fay (Charland/Smith) Richardson, of over eighteen years.
In addition to his beloved wife Fay (Charland/ Smith) Richardson, he is also survived by his two daughters, Kristina L. Edison and her husband David of Hudson and Brianna K. Richardson of Hudson; one son, Joseph A. Richardson of Marlborough; his parents, Eliot F. and Claire (Harding) Richardson of Berwyn, PA; two grandchildren, Cameron and Mason Edison; two sisters, Janet Cirrone of Florida and Sandy Harmer of Pennsylvania; one brother David Richardson of Ohio; his mother and father in law, Lulu and Clarence Smith of Hudson; several aunts and uncles and many nieces and nephews.
Glenn was born in Boston on March 24, 1954, a son of Eliot F. and Claire (Harding) Richardson. Growing up he spent time in Boston and Berwyn, PA, where he graduated from Conestoga Sr. High School. After graduation Glenn proudly served his country in the United States Army’s First Infantry Division “Big Red One” based in Fort Riley, KS. During his time in Kansas Glenn married Barbara Phillips, the mother of two of his children, Kristina and Joseph; Barbara predeceased him in 1998. Glenn has been back in Massachusetts for over 35 years and worked as a plumber for Ken’s Food Service for over 32 years up until the day he passed. Glenn married Fay (Charland/ Smith) Richardson on December 24, 1999; she has loved, supported and cared for him through sickness and health until the very end. Glenn adopted Fay’s daughter Brianna, and he loved her as one of his own children.
Glenn was a very active and loved member at Grace Baptist Church in Hudson, MA; he truly lived his faith through generosity and caring for others. Glenn shared his talents with others in the Church, volunteering his plumbing services at no charge to those in need. He loved people and those that knew him would often hear “I love you man!” from him. Glenn was also a fighter; his tenacity and shear will power kept him going the last several years despite several health issues and bad haircuts. He fought the good fight; he has been an inspiration for all who knew him and despite his failing health he never lost his faith in God, sense of humor, and infectious smile.
Glenn was an avid New England Sports fan and he especially loved the Patriots; he also enjoyed watching nascar, running, and listening to country music. He was a golfer and a member of the Ken’s Food Service Golfing Club. He also loved his dogs; Maverick, Blackie, Princess, Razzi, and Kariann. Glenn was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather and he will be forever loved and forever missed.
A Celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Grace Baptist Church, 353 River Rd, Hudson, MA 01749.
