Gregory T. Donahue, II, 23

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Gregory T. Donahue, II., age 23, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.

Born in Norwood, MA on September 20, 1993, he was a loving and cherished son of Gregory T. and Ellen M. (Rose) Donahue of Mansfield.

Greg grew up and was educated in Mansfield. He was a 2012 graduate of Mansfield High School where he played football, was a member of the 2010 Super Bowl Championship Team and served as a team captain in his senior year. He furthered his studies, graduating from Framingham State University, where he also played football and received a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.

Greg worked as a welder for the 3-D Welding Company, a business owned and operated by his family in Attleboro.

He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, and especially enjoyed skiing, spending time with his friends and vacationing with family in Maine. He was also an avid reader, loved working on his car and was a big fan of the Dave Matthews Band.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his devoted sisters Courtney R. McCarthy and her husband Michael of Marlboro and Katie E. Donahue and her fiancé Kevin Mascary of Mansfield. He was the longtime loving boyfriend of Jillian P. Flaherty of Quincy, the adoring grandson of Agnes Rose of Norwood, and is also survived many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Friday, June 2nd at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be private.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 1st from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.

In lieu of flowers, Greg’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Fallon Finegan Hearts For Hope Foundation, 18 Bragg Road, Foxboro, MA 02035.
