Melvin D. Wood, 96, passed away May 26, 2017.
He was the owner of Hi-Lo Carpet, a member of Lyons Missionary Baptist Church and Valley Masonic Lodge #511, and World War II Army Air Corp veteran.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Inez (Copass) Wood.
Survivors include 2 sons, Jack (Peggy) & Jerry (Lisa) Wood; four grandchildren, Rachel, Michael, Julie and Jennifer Wood; two great grandchildren, Jackson Chapman and Ben Gerstenecker; and three sisters, Evelyn Copass, Nelda Conkin, and Mattie Howard.
Services will be Tuesday at 12:00 Noon at Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens (West). Visitation Monday at 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
