In Taunton, May 26, 2017 Margaret M. Higgins, Age 85, passed away in Morton Hospital following a brief illness while surrounded by her loving family. Margaret was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Ralph W. & Margaret (McGaughran) Higgins. She had resided all her life in Taunton. Margaret was a Taunton High School Graduate and also graduating from the former Bridgewater Teachers College. She was employed as a teacher for both Taunton and Middleboro. Margaret was a member of the MA Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, baseball, walking, watching the local Taunton television station, teaching CCD classes and above all cherished her time with family. She is survived by her loving children, Michael W. Higgins and his wife Maureen of Taunton, Joseph A. Higgins and his companion Cheryl Wilber of Taunton and Kevin P. Higgins and his wife Jodi of Cumberland, RI. Margaret also leaves her grandchildren, Kristen and Michael Reiner, Kevin LaChance, Cassidy Wilbur, Kendra Bellonio and Paul Mulligan and also her five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers William and Philip Higgins. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Wednesday, May 31st at 9 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday from 5-7 pm. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
