WORCESTER-Peter J. Liangos, 90, of 161 West Mountain Street died Sunday, September 18th in St. Vincent Hospital. His wife Annette (Guillmette) Liangos died in 1996. He is survived by his brother Paul and his wife Ethel Liangos of Marston Mills, several nephews and nieces and his wife’s son Thomas Plies of Phoenix, and by his wife’s grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was born in Worcester the son of John and Kalliope (Stavros-Kollios) Liangos. Mr. Liangos was a well known and well liked bartender in the Worcester area for many years. He had been employed at Putnum and Thurston’s, Mike’s Restaurant, Ed Smith’s and Cosgrove’s Chop House. He later owned and operated Bigelow’s Tavern and the Gaslite Restaurant. Mr. Liangos was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, and the Worcester Lodge of Elks.
