Rita H. (Soucy) Aubrey, 94, of Lawrence, entered into eternal rest on May 9, 2017 surrounded by her cherished family at the Berkeley Nursing Home in Lawrence.
Rita was born on February 15, 1923 to her hardworking parents Eliude and Elise (Raymond) Soucy in Lawrence, MA. She attended school at Sacred Heart in Lawrence and graduated with the Class of 1941. Believing in the value of a secondary education, Rita attended St Joseph's Nursing School in Lowell and began her lifelong career as a nurse. After graduating from nursing school, she married her sweetheart Raymond on June 2, 1946 at Sacred Heart in Lawrence. After marriage, Rita and her husband briefly settled in Lowell to start their family, eventually moving back to Lawrence. She worked for 36 years as a registered nurse for Lawrence General Hospital until her retirement. Rita was a communicant of Sacred Heart in Lawrence until their closing. She can fondly be remembered socializing with the Rainbow Club at St Theresa’s in Methuen. Rita had a devotion for reading, playing cards, spending her summers on Cape Cod, and travelling. She was a woman who was deeply devoted to her family. Rita touched many lives and will fondly be remembered.
Rita is survived by her four devoted children; her daughter, Ruth Ann and her husband Arthur Norton of Rochester, NH, her son, Robert and his wife Maria Aubrey of Bow, NH, her son, Russell and his wife Karen Aubrey of Lawrence, MA, and her son, Raymond and his wife Dianne Aubrey of Plaistow, NH. She was the grandmother to her four beloved grandchildren; Marc, Julie, Kerry, Ryan. Rita was the great-grandmother to her seven cherished great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan, Carter, Olivia, Sarah, Morgan, and Donovan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J Aubrey.

Visitation for Rita will be held Monday, May 15, 2017, from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St, Methuen. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel/St. Theresa's, 22 Plymouth St, Methuen, with Fr. Chris Casey officiating. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 80 Corbett St, Andover.
