Mabel Rowe Powell, 91, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Sunday, September 18, 2005 at the Palemon Gaskins Nursing Home in Ocilla.
Graveside Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 20, 2005, at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. John K. Mobley officiating. Visitation well be held from 7 until 9 PM Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Powell was born July 15, 1914 in Meriwether County, Georgia to the Late Henry Clay and Ruby Knight Rowe. She lived in Irwin County most all of her life. Mrs. Powell was a former Bookkeeper for Irwin EMC and Medical Arts in Fitzgerald and former Teller at First State Bank. She was a member and Sunday School Teacher at New Prospect Baptist Church and a Member of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Powell survived by 2 Sons: Allen (Joyce) Powell of Fitzgerald and Mike (Judy) Powell of Stockbridge: six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd C. Powell.
