Marjorie T. (Dooley) Parent, 84, of New Bedford passed away on Monday May 8, 2017 at home surrounded by her family.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth V. (Wessiack) Dooley, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life. She was a graduate of Holy Family High School.
Mrs. Parent was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
She enjoyed cake decorating and ceramics and loved animals. When her daughter was young, she was active in the Girl Scouts.
She is survived by her children, Kris A. Parent-Elkins and her husband Roger P. Elkins, and Dirk M. Goldberg and his companion Donna Letourneau, all of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Damon, Darien, and Marissa Goldberg; and various great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Gene Goldberg.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Private family burial will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
