
WORCESTER____Ann Marie (Shallis) Bourassa, 77, of 96 Vale St., died Friday Sept. 16 in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center. Her husband, Clement R. Bourassa died in 1977.
She leaves two sons, Jeffrey Bourassa of Worcester and John Bourassa and his wife Jane, of Perry Hall, MD, a daughter, Jeanne M. Cutler and her husband James of Grosvenordale, CT, five grandchildren, Matthew, Justin, Jennifer, Gillian and Alicia and a great-grandson, Jaron. She was born in Newton Upper Falls, daughter of James H. and Vera (Kronlutes) Shallis and lived here for most of her life. Besides her family she leaves her many friends who worked with her that where always there during her retirement. They provided companionship weekdays and were with her on those days for breakfast and lunch.
Mrs. Bourassa was a social service worker for Heywood Valley Nursing Home and worked there thirty years before retiring in November 2001. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Church and over the years was a volunteer for various groups including Union Hill School where she volunteered in the library and during school lunches.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 20 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday Sept. 19 from 5 to 8 p.m.
