Richard F. Ryan, 78, died unexpectedly August 23 at his home in FL. He was the husband of Jacqueline (Campbell) Ryan. Born in Boston, he was a graduate of Boston Schools and Northeastern University. He was a WWII Veteran of the US Navy. Mr. Ryan was a resident of Stoughton for over 28 years before moving to Florida in 1977. Mr. Ryan worked as a purchasing agent at I.T.T. for many years in both Massachusetts and Florida. He was had been retired for several years. A former member of Sharon Country Club, he enjoyed golf. He was also a member of the VFW Post 8696 in FL.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Richard of Boston and Thomas of SC. He was the brother of Jean Chaples and Barbara Clements both of Stoughton. He was predeceased by his parents, Catherine (Niven) and John F. Ryan. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Burial was private at Knollwood Memorial Park. Donations in his memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
