Theodore “Teddy” De Costa. Age 77. Husband of Lorraine (Grillo)De Costa. Residence 171 O’Grady St., Fall River. Died Monday in Fall River, MA. Born in Newport, Rhode Island. Son of the late Antone De Costa and the late Mary (Perry Rezendes)De Costa. He was a Portsmouth resident for 18 years, then Fall River for 10 years. After retiring, he was a full time Parking Attendant at the Eagle Restaurant. Prior to retiring, he was an Auto Mechanic and the former owner of Teddy’s Gulf Station in Portsmouth,RI. He was a past member of the R.I. National Guard.
Besides his wife of Fall River, he is survived by Two Sons: Stephen Costa of New Bedford, MA and Antone De Costa of Fall River, MA. Two Daughters:Cathy Clairborne of Kansas and Laurie Gray of Fall River, MA. One Sister: Helen Soares of Portsmouth, RI. Four Grandchildren and One Great Grandchild. Several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Mary Lagman and Ethel Louise Jestings.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St., Fall River, Ma. on Friday at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Notre Dame Church, Eastern Ave., Fall River, Ma. at 10:00 AM. Internment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River, MA. Calling hours Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M.
