Obituary


Emile R. Lagueux, 78, of Magnolia Lane, Laconia, died on Tuesday evening, September 13, 2005 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

Emile was the son of the late Arthur and Beatrice (Paquette) Lagueux. He was born in Laconia on June 30, 1927. Emile was raised in Barre, VT moving back to Laconia in his teen years. In recent years he spent the winter months at his home at Seven Springs Country Club in New Port Richey, Florida

Prior to his retirement in 1989 he was the General Service Manager at the former Scott & Williams, Inc. for over 37 years. Emile was a WWII Navy Veteran , and a US Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict.

As an avid golfer Emile held memberships at Lake View Country Club in Belmont, Pheasant Ridge Country Club, Gilford, and Seven Springs Country Club in New Port Richey, Florida. He was a member of The American Legion Post No. 1 in Laconia. Emile was a graduate of Laconia High School Class of 1945, and was an active Alumnus within its reunions. He also loved flowers and gardening.

Emile was predeceased by one brother, Normand Lagueux, and one sister Jeannette Lagueux.

Emile is survived by his wife of 52 years, Frances (McClary) Lagueux of Laconia, one daughter, Pamela A. Comstock and her husband W. Scott of Laconia, one granddaughter, Shelby L. Comstock-Wright of Laconia, two brothers, Raymond Lagueux and his wife Julia of North Carolina, and Philip Lagueux and his wife Bernice “Bunny” of Laconia, one sister, Rita M. Benoit and her husband Ed of Laconia. Emile is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, September 17, 2005 at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia at 10:00 am. Rev. Adrien R. Longchamps pastor of the church celebrated the mass. Burial followed in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia. Visiting hours were Friday, September 16, 2005 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia. Family and friends were invited to attend.
