Bertrand Duhamel 68 of Park Ave Woonsocket died Sunday in the hospice unit of the St Antoine Residence after a long battle with cancer.
He was the husband of Lorraine (Carpentier) Duhamel. Mr Duhamel was born in Woonsocket a son of the late Joseph and Delia (Lalancette) Duhamel and was a proud and lifelong city resident. He was a maintenance specialist at Douglas Manor in North Providence for twenty years before retiring in 2002. Although he retired, he continued working, and thrived on helping others.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son Steven Duhamel of Woonsocket and his wife Brenda (Dubois),Duhamel, a brother Raymond Duhamel also of Woonsocket, a sister Gloria Fioravanti of Cumberland, one grandson, Nicholas Duhamel of Woonsocket and many special friends and family members.
He was much loved and will be sadly missed.
His funeral will be held Friday at 9:00am from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral home 463 South Main St with a mass of Christian Burial at Precious blood Church at 10:00. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be Thursday 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
