Obituary

William E. Wade, 66, a longtime resident of E. Bridgewater, died Monday, September 12, at home under the care of the Hospice of Greater Brockton, after a long battle with emphysema. He was the husband of Kathleen A. (Gallagher) Wade. Born in Malden, he was raised in Stoughton and a graduate of Stoughton Schools. Mr. Wade lived in Stoughton for many years, before moving to E. Bridgewater over 25 years ago. He also lived in Ponte Verda, FL for 10 years. Mr. Wade worked as a truck driver for Teamsters Local 653 in Brockton and Bourne’s Trucking for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed cooking, watching sports and Nascar on TV, reading and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Wade is survived by his children, Michael Wade of Norfolk, Michelle Derouen of E. Bridgewater and Cheri Monett of Greenfield and his siblings, Trudy Marshall of Wareham, Charles L. Wade of Stoughton and Arnold Blanchard of NH. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ericka Derouen, Kelsey Derouen, Ben Derouen and Zephyr Monett and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons, Richard S. Wade and Barry L. Wade as well as his sister, Priscilla Dimond.

Funeral services will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, September 15 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 5-8 PM. Donations in Bill’s name may be made to the American Lung Assoc, 25 Spring St, Walpole, 02081 or to Hospice of Greater Brockton, 500 Belmont St, Brockton, 02301. Interment will take place at East Bridgewater Cemetery.
