Grace Marie (Johnson) Palumbo, died Saturday morning at the Courtyard Nursing Center after a long illness. She was 71.
Grace was a life-long Somerville resident, the daughter of the late James E. and the late Catherine (MacDonald) Johnson. A dedicated wife and mother, she worked as a lunch aid with the Somerville School Department before her retirement.
She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Palumbo. She was a devoted mother to Catherine Demasi and her husband Joe of Everett. She was a loving grandmother to Kerriann, Katelyne, Arthur and JoJo. She was the dear sister of the late James and Donald Johnson and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Benedict Church, 21 Hathorne Street, Somerville, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
