Obituary

Raynham, Robert J. Sullivan died on the morning of March 27, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 83. Robert (Bob) was born on April 13, 1933 in Taunton to the late Michael and Lillian (Cote) Sullivan. He was the youngest of four siblings. He attended both Taunton High School and Coyle High School. He was the husband of Diana (Ventura) Sullivan, They were married for 58 years. They reside in Raynham. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Caperton DD 650. He was a manager at Robertson’s and Corp in Middleboro. He was also a member at Segregansett Country Club in Taunton. Bob was known for his outgoing personality. He made friends everywhere he went with his stories and humor. He loved to play golf, sneak the occasional sweet, scratching tickets, going out with “the gang”. Giving everyone a nickname, playing cards on Wednesday afternoons with Carl, visiting Amaro’s to talk with everyone who came in, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son David J. Sullivan of Taunton, a daughter Patricia A. Medeiros and Peter of Taunton, three grandchildren, Mathew Medeiros of Taunton, Jacob Medeiros of Providence, RI, Rachel Gerald and Kurt of East Taunton. A brother Francis Sullivan of Taunton, a sister Joan Clifford of Taunton and the late brother Daniel B. Sullivan of Taunton and many other friends and relatives. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home 70 Washington Street in Taunton on Thursday March 30th at 9 am. A Mass will be held at St Mary’s Church in Taunton at 10 am. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 pm. Interment St Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
