PRICE, Denise Catherine Of Wellesley passed on March 26, 2017 at the age of 72 due to complications brought on by Alzheimer’s disease. Denise was born in 1948 in Winthrop, MA to Gerard and Catherine McHugh. She was the third of four children with brothers Paul and Steven and sister Marcia. Denise was very happily married for over 50yrs to her husband William Price, whom she met while getting her Bachelor’s degree at Northeastern University in 1968. She also received a Master’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts in Education and later worked at NASA in their Library in Cambridge. After working for NASA, Denise went on to teach kindergarten for 33 years in Weston, MA and three more years in Wellesley, MA. She was a truly passionate teacher who believed in her students and the power of primary education. In addition, she was deeply committed to the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church and was a regular volunteer at the Women’s Lunch Place shelter in Boston. She was a lover of art, music, nature and all animals (particularly her Siamese cat Flurry and Newfoundland dog Midnight). Denise is survived by her husband William, her son David and wife Laura and by her granddaughter Sunday. Denise was a true friend and wife, a loving mother and a gifted teacher. Her lightness of being and smile will be with us always.
