Joyce Faye McQueen, 70, of Irwinville, Georgia, died Monday, March 27, 2017, at Pruitt Health in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Old Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder Charles Tyson officiating. Interment will follow in the Irwinville Cemetery, with the Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. McQueen was born June 22, 1946, in Lowndes County, Georgia, to the late Willis Leroy & Ruth McGee Linahan. She graduated from Valdosta High School and was a former employee at South Georgia Medical Center for 23 years working in housekeeping and as a nurse’s aide. Mrs. McQueen moved to the community in 1996 and was a member of Old Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church, in Irwin County, Georgia.
She is survived by her sister, Lavon Sapp of Irwinville; a niece, Patsy Zorn; great- nieces and nephews: Stephanie Williams & Barry, Keri Dixon, Christepher Young, Austin Carter, Mason Williams and several loving cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nadine Linahan and a brother, Willis L. “Junior” Linahan.
