Devoted father of Maryellen Gleason of Phoenix, AZ, Richard J. Gleason, JR., of Hopedale, Molly Giordano of Sturbridge, Andrew Gleason of Pittsburgh, PA, Peter Gleason of Tracy, CA, Carol Gleason of Jamaica Plain, Sarah Gleason of Hoboken, NJ, and Michael Gleason of Brighton. Sister of Sister Maryellen Gleason, S.C., of Madison, NJ, and the late Joseph and Mark Gleason and Kathy Powers. Also survived by eleven grandchildren.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. (Rt.16), WELLESLEY, Friday at 10:00 am. Funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, Wellesley Hills, at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment private. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 2-5 and 7-9 pm, and Thursday from 4-8 pm.

Served as a Town Meeting member and the Advisory Sub Commitee for the Public Works. Head of the Board of Public Works 1984-1994. In 1994 he served on the Natural Resources Commission.
