Obituary

Joseph (Joe) G.S. Robinson Sr., 88, of Worcester, died Sunday September
4, 2005 at Goddard-Homestead, an assisted living facility where he had
lived for 16 years. He leaves two sons, Joseph G.S. Robinson Jr., of
Eddington, Maine and Ronald "Frank" Robinson of Coatesville, Pennsylvania
and his wife Paula, and a daughter Carilyn E. (Robinson) Philbrook of
Jordanville, New York and her husband Harold, two grandchildren and a
great grand child.

Joe was born in Reading, MA, son of Joseph G.S. and Mabel E. (Hager)
Robinson. The family later moved to Clinton where he lived until he
married Arlene (Roundy) Robinson who died in 1994. He graduated in 1934
from Worcester Boys Trade School where he learned drafting. During his
career he completed courses of study in Engineering, Science, and
Management from Clark University, Worcester Polytechnical Institute and
Worcester Junior College. Employment was found at Persons-Majestic
Manufacturing from 1935-1946, then Cincinnati Milicron, Heald Machine
Division where he worked as an engineer from 1946 until his retirement in
1981.

Joe was an active member of the Church of Christ, Scientist, where he
held many positions including that of "Reader". He also was a Trustee of
Goddard/Homestead. Inc. serving on the Executive and Planning Committees.
He was a member of the Heald Machine Camera Club for many years.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 8th in
Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester,
MA. A private burial for the family will be held on Friday at Rural
Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please make a
memorial contribution to the Goddard-Homestead Memorial Fund, 1199 Main
St. Worcester, MA 01603.
