Obituary

Worcester – Caroline E. “Carol” “Skippy” (Mason) Belanger, 78, of Worcester, passed away on March 3rd in her home surrounded by the family that she dearly loved, following a lengthy illness.
Carol is survived by her three daughters, Sandra Jeanne Belanger, Tracey Marie Belanger - Brooks and Caroline E. “Keri” Belanger and her partner, Christine Mallett; 7 grandchildren, Brandan Belanger, Sean Brooks, Amanda Steina, T.J. Steina, Tre Brooks, Christian Brooks and Meshia Brooks; two beloved great grandsons, Jayce Barrette and Aybel Belanger; a beloved great granddaughter, Violet; her sisters, Carla, wife of Ted Grant, Corliss, wife of George Shire and Candace, wife of Wayne Humphrey; many nephews and nieces.
Skippy was born in Marlborough, MA daughter of the late Edward and Caroline (Stone) Mason and is also predeceased by two sisters, Cynthia Zaidi and Christine Sullivan.
She attended schools in Sudbury including Henry Ford’s Redstone School. Carol also attended school in Woods Hole, Falmouth and graduated from Ashland High School.
For many years, Carol worked as an advocate in the fields of domestic violence and substance abuse treatment at Rutland Heights Hospital, New Hope Inc. and the Faith House. Upon her retirement, she worked for many years as the friendly cashier at Shaws in the early morning.
Family and friends are invited to join the family on Tuesday, March 21 in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street from 5:30 to 7:30PM to celebrate the life of Carol. The family is requesting that you honor her life work towards domestic violence and substance abuse by making a donation to a treatment agency of your choice to help better the lives of those in need.
