CALIFORNIA CITY, CA____John Timothy Leary, 51, of California City and formerly of West Hartford, CT, died tragically in an auto accident on August 27, 2005 in California. He was born March 9, 1954 in Worcester, MA.
He was employed as a master electrician at Edward’s Air Force Base and had served in the U.S. Air Force and the National Guard.
John was a kind, loving, easy going man devoted to his children. He had a great sense of humor and truly enjoyed life. His favorite past times were golf and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He will be missed by his family and friends.
John is survived by his children Jewel, Patrick, Kristine and Max, his step children, John, Karrie and Matthew and his granddaughter, Emily Marie, his parents, Jack and Ann (Daly) Leary of Old Saybrook, CT, his sister, Sharon Goslee and her husband Richard of Killingworth, CT, his sister Sheila Eckhardt and her husband Cornell and children Christopher and Sara of Granby, CT, and his brother Michael of West Hartford, CT. He also leaves aunts, uncles and cousins. His son Timothy, age 23, also died as a result of the auto accident.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday Sept. 10 at 11:30 am in St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton St., Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross Hurricane Response Fund, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013.
