U. Stella (Andrade) Bucher. Age 80. Wife of the late Edward A. Bucher. Residence 61 Moss St. Fall River. Died Monday in Providence at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Fall River. Daughter of the late Manuel B. Andrade and the late Mary (Motta) Andrade. She was a resident of Fall River for most of her life. Before retiring, she had worked as an E.K.G. Technician and a Ward Secretary at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Holy Name Church and a former of St. John of God Church. She was member of the Holy Rosary Society and also was a C.C.D. Teacher for 10 years at St. John of God Church. She was also a member of the Morning Glory Prayer Group. In the 1940’s she was a member of the U.S.O. She was a graduate of Durfee High School and Diman Technical Institute.
She is survived by 3 Daughters: Marjorie Martin of Waynesville, NC, Linda Marie Harrop of Fall River and Mary Jane Battista of Watertown, NY. 3 Sisters: Maria “Mae” Rogers of Dartmouth, Alice Castro of Fall River and Leonora DeMello of Falmouth. 5 Grandchildren and 3 Great-grandchildren and Several Nieces and Nephews.
Her Funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 North Main Street on Thursday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Name Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Nathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset. Calling Hours Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. In lieu flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Outreach, 502 Bedford St. Fall River, MA 02721.
