
Mary Elizabeth (Ford) Lanzillo a 19 year resident of Stoneham and former lifelong resident of Wakefield, died on Friday September 2, 2005 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose after a brief illness. She was 90 years old.
Mary was born on May 25, 1915 in Wakefield, Ma. She was the daughter of Edward Ford and Mary (Butler) Ford. Mary grew up in Wakefield and attended Wakefield Public Schools and graduated from Wakefield High School. She worked for Bank of New England as a bookkeeper for over forty years. She retired in 1980. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Wakefield. Mary will always be remembered for her great love of animals and her sense of humor. She was especially gifted by her many loyal friends who helped her through these last few difficult months.
Mary is the beloved wife of 57 years to the late Raymond Lanzillo.
She is the devoted sister of the late Anne Groton, Edward J. Ford and Charles B. Ford. Mary is survived by her beloved sister-in-laws; Rose Taylor of Wakefield and Mardy Lanzillo of Dade City, Florida. She is the loving aunt of the late Mary Louise Ford and many other nieces and nephews.
Mary’s Funeral will be held on Wednesday September 7, 2005 from the Philip X. Carr Funeral Home 1159 Main St. Melrose/Wakefield line at 8 am. Followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church 173 Albion St. Wakefield at 9 am. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours on Tuesday September 6, 2005 from 3 to 6 pm. Interment will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Stoneham.
