Obituary

of Jeffersontown, formally of St.Matthews was called home early Sunday morning, February 26th, 2017. He was proceeded in death by parents John L and Geneva, brother Joey, niece Stacey and nephew Chuck. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Ann Rutledge, his son Michael Ray (Rebecca), daughter Patti Lynn Dearner (Johnny), eight grandchildren Michael (Whitney), Katie (Jeff), Kristen (LJ), Victoria (Griffin), John (Katie), Samantha, Nick, Will, three great granddaughters, Marley, Peyton and Brooklynn. He is also survived by brothers Buster, Charlie and Richie and sister Rose Bowles. Clarence served in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955 aboard the Firedrake and the USS Ajax. After leaving the Navy he worked for his father at Parsons Paint. Clarence was an avid fisherman and a talented craftsman. Above all he was a family man who loved and cherished his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a proud member of Graefenburg Christian Church, Frankfort, KY ,and St.Matthews Masonic Lodge No. 906. Visitation will be held at Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown 9318 Taylorsville Rd on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 2nd at the Funeral Home with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Expressions on sympathy can be made to Graefenburg Christian Church.
