Wareham – John F. Pombo, Jr., 76, of Wareham passed away February 23, 2017 at Tobey Hospital. He was the former husband of Clara A. “Claire” Audette.
Mr. Pombo was born in New Bedford, son of the late John F. and Marianna (Couto) Pombo, and resided in Fairhaven before moving to Wareham 17 years ago. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Fairhaven. He was employed as a truck driver by the Town of Fairhaven until his retirement in 2003.
In addition to his former wife, he is survived by a son: Robert J. Pombo and his fiancée, Joann Tavares; 2 daughters: Susan Foley and Sandra Lee Medeiros; 2 sisters: Dolores Grapsas and Barbara Russek; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandsons; several nieces & nephews; and his beloved cat: Maggie.
He was brother of the late Priscilla Imbriglio.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 9 A.M. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Kirby Funeral Home, 61 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford.
