Steven C. Luongo, 42, died after an accident on the Essex River on September 2, a resident of Gloucester for the last sixteen years. He was employed at Raytheon as a facility manager.
Born in Winchester and raised in Medford, he was the son of Lorraine C. (Lessard) and Michael A. Luongo of Medford. He was a graduate of Medford High School class of 1981.
After continuing his education at Wentworth Institute In Boston, he worked for the Lahey Clinic and then Raytheon. Steven was a avid outdoorsman, he was a licensed pilot, enjoyed scuba diving and boating.
In addition to his mother and father he is survived by his brother Michael A. Luongo Jr. of Methuen, his sister Lisa Nargi and her husband Larry of Medford. Two Loving Nieces Bianca and Marissa Nargi. He was the nephew of Mary C. Amico of Medford, Paul Lessard and his wife Camille of Medford and Germaine Lessard of Vancouver, BC.
His funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, on Wednesday, September 7, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St. Medford at 10. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
