WORCESTER-Anita A. (Auger) Clay, 90, of 9 Briarwood Circle, formerly of 98 Beaver Brook Parkway, died Wednesday, August 31st in Saint Vincent Hospital after a short illness. She leaves her husband of 66 years, Vernon G. Clay, 2 daughters, Maureen A. wife of Robert H. Grady of Auburn and Barbara A. wife of Robert G. Yaeger of Worcester, 2 son-in laws, Gerald Reardon of Worcester and Francis Moran of Framingham, 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces. 2 daughters, Virginia F. Reardon died on July 7, 2002 and Pauline Y. Moran died on Friday. 2 brothers, Medric and Paul Auger and 6 sisters, Alma Pierce, Florence Marin, Yvonne Porter, Rita Prunier, Claire Auger and Irene Auger predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Francis E. and Amelia (Gendron) Auger. Mrs. Clay was a homemaker. Previously she was employed by Shearer’s Department Store for several years until she married in 1939.
The funeral is Saturday, September 3rd, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Notre Dame-St. Joseph’s Church, at the Worcester Common. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours.
