John Stepanik

1948-2005


John Stepanik died August 31, 2005 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. He was 57 years old.

John was born in Kelc, Czechoslovakia to Stanislav and Vincencie (Malijurova) Stepanik on May 24, 1948. He came to the United States with his family first settling in Dorchester and Everett before moving to Winchester in 1987. He was a Master Electrician and a HVAC tech most recently working for Genzyme in Alston. In his spare time John enjoyed fishing trips with his son Jan out of Newburyport and skiing at Bretton Woods, NH.

In addition to his son, Jan of Winchester, John is also survived by his wife Maria (Havranova) Stepanik of Winchester, a daughter, Simona Stepanik of Reading and a sister, Eliska Krbova of the Czech Republic.

Funeral services will be held from the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Tuesday September 6th at 9:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester at 10AM. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 8:30-9:30AM. Services will conclude with the interment at the Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester
