Vincenza Garofalo, 74, of Bayou Drive in Greenville, died Tuesday at Cherry Hill Manor in Johnston.
Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Frank and Concetta (Sasso) Garofalo. She lived in Greenville for many years.
Ms. Garofalo was a supervisor for the former General Electric Company. She enjoyed her work and was an employee of the company from 1953 until retiring in 1990. She was an avid reader and a courageous lady who spoke her mind and enjoyed a good conversation. She had battled her illness with grit and determination.
She is survived by a sister, Yolanda “Yola” Tarantino of East Greenwich, several nieces, nephews and friends. She was the sister of the late Frank, Leo, Joseph, Bart and Antonetta Garofalo, Mary Malardo, Rose DiGiacomo, Josephine Massemini and dear friend of the late Virginia K. Dunphy.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:30am from the
* ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Rt.44 at Greenville Common,Greenville, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visitation Friday 4-7pm
