WORCESTER___Mae Rita “Sweet Mae” (Pollinger) LaReau, 75, of 39 Barnard Rd., died Monday August 29 surrounded by her family in the Hospice Residence, 10 Judith Rd.
She leaves her husband of 57 years, Ronald E. LaReau, a son, Joseph R. LaReau of West Boylston; five daughters, Susan M. Van Buskirk of Millbury; twins, Donna M. Winslow of Grafton and Denise J. Rugg of Worcester; Julie A. LaReau of Worcester and Cynthia A. Stewart of Spencer; a sister, Patricia Bourke of Auburn; seven grandchildren, one great-grandson and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by three sisters and one brother, Vera, June, Ginger and George, Jr. She was born in Worcester, daughter of George B. and Julia Etta (O’Leary) Pollinger and lived here all her life.
Mrs. LaReau worked as a cat scan scheduler in the Radiology department of St. Vincent Hospital where she worked 20 years before retiring in 1996. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School and was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church and the St. Peter’s High School Alumni Association. Mae was a devote christian. She was a full time mom who loved her family very much.
The funeral will be held on Friday Sept. 2 with a Memorial Mass at 10 am in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
