Worcester - Jean A. Brierly, 79, of 14 Henderson Ave. died Saturday June 1 in Life Care Center of Auburn.
Mrs. Brierly leaves her husband of 59 years Fred T. Brierly Jr. of Worcester; two sons Fred T. Brierly III of Rochdale and Kurt F. Brierly of Oakham; three brothers Edwin Kazanovicz of El Dorado, Arkansas, Adolph Kazanovicz of Worcester and Stanley Kasanowich of Truro; two sisters Sophie Erickson of Eastham and Helen Dzenowagis of Okemos, Michigan; two grandsons; a great grandson and many nieces and nephews. A brother Frank Case formerly of Hollis, NH predceased her. She was born in Worcester daughter of Frank and Anastasia (Porkornicki) Kazanovicz.
She was educated in the public schools in Auburn and Worcester and graduated from Commerce High. She worked many years in retail sales specializing in the sale of upscale boys clothing at Ware-Pratt and Shacks. She enjoyed Reading, Hiking, Traveling and the Seashore.
She was a founder of the WPI Alumni Wives Club and was its first recording secretary.
A private funeral service will be held in Our Lady of Angels Church 1222 Main Street Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday June 4 from 5 to 8 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond Street. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
