Obituary



Leroy Moreland, 68, of Brockton, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017. Leroy was the son of the late Lizzie Mae Moreland and the late Oliver “Buddy” Moreland.
Leroy was born on December 24, 1948 in Smithville, Georgia. During his younger years, Leroy resided in Dunkirk, New York where he attended school and later joined the job corp.
During his residence in Dunkirk, Leroy met and married Joyce Wilson and relocated to Brockton, Massachusetts. As a resident of Brockton, Leroy befriended a host of friends which he treasured.
Leroy ‘s favorite activities he enjoyed was reading, fishing, training dogs and spending time with his friends and family. Leroy was nicknamed “Sneak” by his close friends and family. Leroy was a people person and touched many lives with his uplifting spirit.
Upon relocating to Albany, Georgia to care for his mother, Leroy met and befriended a host of friends at Hudson Malone Towers. During his residence in Albany, Leroy became ill, while in his illness he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior (One day we shall see you again in Glory Land).

Leroy leaves behind, his wife Joyce Moreland, his three daughter’s Patricia Moreland, Rachelle Moreland and Charmayne Perez (Rico Perez) Five grandchildren, Adriana, Justin, Arena, Tynia and Steven Jr.; one great granddaughter Anya. He also leaves five sisters Annie Lois Moreland, Rosie James (Rev. Howard K. James), Martha Moreland, Diane Torres (Robert Torres), Jeanie Moreland and one step sister Jessise Lockett and four brothers Jerry Moreland, Sammie Moreland, Willie Moreland, Ronnie Moreland and preceded in death his brother James Moreland. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Saturday February 11, 2017 at 11am.
